Origin Story

Pho, pronounced “fuh”, is a traditional Vietnamese noodle soup, shaped by both Chinese and French culinary influences – drawing rice noodles from Chinese cuisine and the art of slow-simmered broths from French cooking. It’s celebrated for its rich, aromatic broth, served with tender flat rice noodles, proteins, such as shredded chicken or thinly sliced beef, and finished with fresh garnishes like Thai basil, bean sprouts, lime, and chilli.

Product Information

If using chicken or vegetables, slice these. If using tofu, cut into cubes. Slice the spring onions.

  1. In a large pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil until hot and fry the protein or veg for 4-6 minutes until cooked.
  2. Add the sauce (small pouch) and cook for 30 seconds, then add herbs and spices from the spice pouch (include chilli for extra heat) and cook for a further 1 minute.
  3. Add 800ml of water and 1/2 of the spring onions, then bring to the boil, add noodles and cook for 5-7 minutes or cook to your preference. While cooking the Pho, make a salad by mixing the bean sprouts, remaining spring onions, mint, Thai basil, coriander and squeeze in the juice from lime.
  4. When the Pho is cooked, share between 2 bowls and top with bean sprout salad.
