Origin Story
The sauce in this kit is infused with flavour using the ‘potli’ method, where ingredients are wrapped in a bundle to slowly release their essences into the sauce. Layers of vibrant, spicy, citrusy and enticing flavours from the whole spices and sauce dance on your palate and are perfectly complemented by an extra punch of heat – balanced with sweet, tangy and herby hints – from the Pico de Gallo salsa. All culminating in an explosion of heavenly Mexican-style flavour, perfect for spicing up a week-day dinner or for impressing guests at the weekend.
Product Information
Preparation: Cut your protein or vegetables into small cubes and thinly slice your onion.
1. Drain your beans and heat these in a pot until piping hot and cooked through.
2. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a small pan, add the whole herbs and spices from the sachet and cook for 20 seconds (using the chilli for extra heat). Add the onion and cook for 1 minute.
3. Add the protein or vegetables and brown lightly.
4. Stir in the sauce (large pouch) and simmer for another 3-5 minutes, or until the protein or vegetables is cooked through. Finish with a squeeze of lime.
5. Build your burrito by adding the above to the middle of a tortilla along with the cooked rice and beans, as well as the salsa (small pouch), folding in the sides of the tortilla and rolling to form a burrito.
Serves 2-3 with Mexican-style spiced rice and black beans.

This sauce is really versatile and can also be used to make delicious burrito bowls, fajitas, tacos or enchiladas.
Season your rice with paprika, garlic, tomato and jalapeƱos for an extra kick of flavour.
Try roasting some corn and add to the burrito for a delicious, sweet layer of flavour.
Add shredded coriander to the finished dish for an intense floral note.
Add fresh jalapeƱos for an extra kick of heat.
Use half of the sauce in the pouch to marinate the chicken for 12 hours in the fridge to allow the flavours to penetrate through the meat before cooking. Store the remaining sauce in the fridge and add to the pan as per the instructions.
